Dr. Stohs was born and raised in Marysville, KS. He attended Kansas State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science and Industry in May, 2000, then went on to graduate from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. He came to Drexel in 2006 as an associate, and then purchased the practice in April of 2007. Dr. Stohs currently resides in Louisburg, KS with his wife and 3 children, and his Great Dane, Maizy.
Dr. Lents grew up on a livestock producing farm near Bridgewater, IA. He attended Iowa State University where he graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. After graduating, he went to University of Illinois for an internship in Food Animal Medicine. He went on to private practice in northern Iowa and Wyoming before coming to Drexel in 2006. Ed and his wife Becky currently live outside of Drexel with an assortment of animals.
Dr Miller was born outside of Houston, TX and lived in various states until attending Kansas State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science and Industry in December of 2008. Dr Miller then went on to receive a masters degree in Biomedical Science in conjunction with his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2014. He and his wife Krystal currently reside in Freeman with their Labrador Retriever, Maya.
Dr. Jared Steck grew up in Centertown, MO where his dad was also a veterinarian. He found his love for animals and animal care growing up on the family farm and watching his father work. Jared graduated Truman State University with a BS in 2013, and graduated vet school at MU this year. Jared said he likes working with all animals at the clinics, but especially cows and companion animals! We are lucky to have him as a part of our team!
Dr. Brianne Simonsen is a 2012 Iowa State University Graduate. She grew up on her grandparent's farm, raising horses with her parents. She practiced in Wyoming for 5 years before coming to work with us! Dr. Simonsen loves working with a variety of animals, but working with horses is something she is especially interested in. She specializes in equine reproduction, lameness, and internal medicine. She will be attending chiropractic school in the fall.
Dr. Elli (Ouellette) Unruh grew up in Rantoul, Kansas on her family's farm and was an active participant in 4H. Elli showed sheep and pigs as well as competing in rodeos and livestock judging throughout high school. Elli graduated vet school at Kansas State University this year, and was a part of the Kansas State Rodeo team. With her extensive knowledge of livestock and hard work ethic, we know Elli will be a great addition to the team!
